Islam is the religion of mercy, forgiveness and tolerance toward all people, whether they are Muslims or non-Muslims. The most salient evidence and brightest proof to this fact is that Islam has never compelled anyone against his free will, to convert to it. Hence, the idea of compulsion associated to Islam is by no means true. Islam is, rather, a call that strongly adheres to quiet dialogue that aims at distinguishing right from wrong so that those who believe in it would do so with full conviction and satisfaction and those who disbelieve in it would do so with free will. There are many questions that come to mind when the name Jesus is mentioned. Some people say he was a prophet, others call him a god, while others say he was a very wise man. But whatever your idea is, one thing remains certain: he was not your ordinary man. So if there is something special about him, why all the confusion? Just who was Jesus anyway? Science “discovered” in the 20th century what the Quran had revealed 1400 years ago about the expanding universe.
In 1929, in the California Mount Wilson observatory, an American astronomer by the name of Edwin Hubble made one of the greatest discoveries in the history of astronomy. Read the rest of this entry »

Advanced study has shown that there is more to life than meets the eye; all the great realities of life lie beyond our comprehension.
In ancient times, water was just water. Then with the 19th century came the invention of the microscope. When water was placed under it, the startling discovery was made that it contained countless live bacteria. Similarly, the stars that could be seen with the naked eye were supposed to be all the heavenly bodies that existed. Now the skies have been scanned with powerful telescopes and information has been sent back from space probes, with the result that the true immensity of the universe is at last being understood. Is it to lead a rabbinic and monastic life? Is it prolonged solitary meditation? Is it to lock ourselves inside a mosque, church, synagogue, or temple and destine ourselves to seclusion and prayer for the rest of our lives? To a certain extent, the conventional meaning of “worship” has become exotic, hostile, or even extinct in the postmodern world. Read the rest of this entry »
Allah says, ” so whoever Allah wants to guide, he expands his breast to ( contain ) Islam; and however he wants to misguide-he makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky …” (al-anaam 125 )

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Islam is based on five (principles): to testify that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger; to offer the compulsory Prayers (salah) dutifully and perfectly; to pay zakah (obligatory charity); to perform Hajj (pilgrimage to the Ka`bah in Makkah); to observe fast during the month of Ramadan.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari) Read the rest of this entry »
It is tempting for a person who knows little, if at all, about Islam to judge this great religion in the light of the wrong behaviour of many of its adherents. A few years ago, I read the story of a Swedish academic who held the same view but later changed it when he realized it was wrong. He read extensively about Islam and decided to embrace it. But before he did so, he thought it was a good idea to travel to a Muslim country and see the greatness of Islam implemented in real life. He happened to go to a country in North Africa, and what he saw there made him decide against the idea of becoming a Muslim. However, on his way back to his home country, he happened to meet a French revert on the train who explained to him that the criterion he adopted was entirely wrong. It was only then that he made up his mind to become a Muslim. Read the rest of this entry »
